Breaking News, MTN Group Hits 200 Million Subscriber Mark

News on Top { MTN } Group President and CEO, Mr. Sifiso Dabengwa
The hint, MTN Group  Wednesday announced that it had reached the 200 million subscriber number across its operations in 22 countries, Nigeria inclusive.
The news of MTN reaching the 200 million subscriber mark, came after 19 years of its operation as MTN Group.
Next year, MTN group would  be celebrating 20 years of connecting people and economies, from South Africa, which was its first country of launch, to South Sudan, its most recent market.
MTN Nigeria, where the MTN Group had its largest market share in terms of revenue generation, has over 50 million subscribers on its network in 12 years of operation in Nigeria.
MTN Nigeria is unarguable the largest network in Nigeria.
Announcing the new subscriber number, MTN Group President and CEO, Mr. Sifiso Dabengwa, said the company had a particular opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to social development.
According to him, “Due to the lack of access to quality education and infrastructure, and low literacy rates in most of the countries where MTN operates, it has chosen to direct a significant amount of its corporate social initiative (CSI) spend towards education over the next two years. This will provide people with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to make positive decisions about their lives.”
MTN runs a comprehensive multi-country CSI programme through MTN Foundations spanning education, health and other national priorities.
He said going forward, the company would scale up its contribution towards building knowledge economies in its markets by investing in more education initiatives aimed at empowering learners and teachers using ICTs and mobile learning.
"As seen in MTN’s 2013 interim results released yesterday, MTN is a growth company with a solid performance record and an aspirational vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to its customers," he said, adding that it would continue to share the fruits of its success with customers and communities through, among others, offering affordable and innovative services, as well as investing in social upliftment and network infrastructure to improve the quality of its services.
“We are grateful to our customers for their loyalty and contribution to the growth of the MTN brand over the years. Using that feedback, MTN is making significant investments towards improving the quality of our service, while also providing solutions designed to make a real difference in the lives of our customers,” Dabengwa said.
He explained that the MTN brand had achieved great prominence over the years.
For two consecutive years, MTN emerged as the highest ranked African brand in the prestigious Millward-Brown Brandz Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2013 survey.
Most recently, MTN emerged South Africa’s most valuable brand in this year’s BrandFinance Most Valuable Brands Survey, for a second consecutive year, he said.
“The award is further acknowledgement of our on-going efforts to enhance customer experience in the various touch-points in the markets,” Dabengwa added.
According to him, to achieve the ambition, which will allow MTN to provide a seamless service experience to customers across its markets, the company has launched a project aptly called ‘Perfect 10’. Already launched in Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and South Africa, the initiative aims to give customers a 10 out of 10 experience of the MTN network, products and services. Benefits of the programme are already filtering through to customers. In Ghana, for example, where the programme was first launched, feedback received in the early stages of implementation has been very positive.
Looking ahead, Dabengwa said the company’s new vision to lead the delivery of a bold new Digital World, and mission to make customers’ lives a whole lot brighter, has positioned MTN well for further growth into the future.
Dabengwa said “MTN’s previous vision to be the leader in telecommunications in emerging markets’ has largely been achieved. The need for a broader digital offering led MTN to refresh its vision and mission and refine its strategic objectives. We believe MTN is now ready for the next frontier of growth - digital services. And we are humbled that over 200 million of our subscribers are embarking on this journey with us, to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world.

Breaking News, Child Marriage: Yerima Needs Psycho-social Support, Says Group

Senator Ahmed Yerima
News on Top the Association for Orphan and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AONN) has called to question the sanity of Senator Ahmed Yerima for his addiction to child-marriage and influencing the recent constitution review that seems to support marriage of underage girls.
The group condemned the action of the Yerima-led group in the Senate for their support of child marriage, which they described as “inhumane and madness.”
The Coordinator of AONN, Mrs. Priscilla Nwachukwu, while speaking at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, tagged: 'Child Marriage-Slavery Disguised', said the actions of the Senators could jeopardise the future and happiness of girl-child especially those of the down-trodden.
Nwachukwu said the lawmakers were not in their right frame of minds when they rose in support of the Bill at, and called for a “psycho-social support” to Yerima and his group.
She said: “It is madness for somebody to marry a child without considering the health, social and economic implications. Marrying off Nigeria girls in childhood will only deepen their trauma and further enslave them. This is very wrong. It is inhumane.
“Child marriage has far- reaching health, social, economic and political implications for girl-child and her community. It truncates a girl’s childhood, creates grave physical and psychological health risks and robs her

Breaking News For PDP, the Crisis Continues

Bamanga Tukur
News on Top the crises in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) are far from over as the two-day meeting to tackle them ended in the wee hours of  Wednesday in a deadlock.
The meeting, summoned and presided over by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and attended by the party’s 23 governors, began on Monday night during which the participants bared their minds on why the crises had been lingering.
The Monday meeting, in which the governors were brutally frank with one another on why the PDP and the NGF were in a tailspin, later adjourned until Tuesday night for further deliberations.
However, when the participants reconvened at 11pm on Tuesday, they failed to reach a consensus on the way forward after four hours of deliberation.
This was because the governors, who have been divided into two camps by the crises, refused to shift grounds while the meeting further polarised them.
On the NGF crisis, the governors stuck to their positions as neither the supporters of Plateau State Governor, Chief Jonah Jang, whose claim to the chairmanship of the forum was that he was the party’s consensus candidate, nor those of Rivers State Governor, Mr. Chibuike Amaechi, who won the NGF election, were ready to concede anything to the other.
Amaechi, in the election, had scored 19 votes to Jang’s 16 to retain his position as the NGF chair.

Great hint Read each other torrid passages from erotic books

A GUY'S GUT REACTION: You know there's free porn online, right?
WHY IT'S NOT THAT SEXY: These days, the average guy has spent most of his life immersed in what's become a highly sexualized culture. From hardcore porn to the lingerie ad at the bus stop, we're constantly being hit over the head with sex. The effect is that it's dulled our senses. We don't want to read a bedtime story—we want to engage in the story ourselves. But talking dirty to each other? That's a win.
So here's the thing: Guys don't require fancy moves or costumes to get turned on. We're simple creatures with simple needs. We like gestures that show us you care, and we like it when a girl has a vibrant life outside the relationship. When I met my wife, I thought it was sexy that she would stay out till 4 a.m. drinking bourbon at a dive bar. My friend Afshin, 24, says, "One time a girl woke me up with a massage, and it was awesome." Chad, 27, says, "I love how my girlfriend keeps my favorite snacks at her place." Now that's hot.

Great hint Buy a super-pricey, super-vampy little lingerie number for his eyes only

A GUY'S GUT REACTION: The only time a guy notices lingerie is when it's hard to take off.
WHY IT'S NOT THAT SEXY: Sexy lingerie is kind of a nonstarter. If it makes you feel sexy, great. Go for it. But if you're wearing it to turn a guy on, just know it doesn't do as much for us as you might think. The one hot thing about lingerie is the mystery of what's underneath. But as Will, 40, says, "If I already know what's under there, then what's the point?"

Great hint Wear a top with a million little buttons and slooowly undo them while he watches

A GUY'S GUT REACTION:
Is it cool if I watch baseball till you finish?

WHY IT'S NOT THAT SEXY: This sounds more goofy than sexy. Sure, most guys enjoy a striptease, but there's a reason strippers don't wear tops like that. Namely, there are few things less hot than unbuttoning a million buttons. Guys like it when you take off your clothes, but it's better if it doesn't take half an inning to get to the main event.

My hint Does romance create better sex?

sexy guy biting ear

Does romance create better sex? Desire leads to the best sex. Desire for that person, desire for the experience, and feeling the desire of someone else for you. Want is such an important ingredient! Romance coupled with desire can lead to great sex, but not all good sex is romantic. Sometimes it's raw, and that's exciting in its own way.

Great hint, If you do hook up and it's great, won't you want to date each other?

Hint on top

Hookup culture asks you to walk away like you don't care about seeing him again—without knowing the guy's name if you can manage it. Being successful at hooking up means that you have to be good at having sex you don't care about.

So what's the problem with hooking up With a Girl?

About sex and relationshipMany people are good at having fun, fulfilling hookups. The problem is, many young women feel like that kind of sex is their only option. If they want to go on dates and get to know someone first, they should be able to do that too. So many students tell me that they have never been on a date while at college and have no idea how to approach someone they are interested in sober.

Poweerfull hint Great Relationship but Sucky Sex?

girl in her underwear
Chris Clinton
When he makes you happy in a zillion other ways, it can be tempting to convince yourself that being unsatisfied in bed really isn't that big a deal.
But we're here to tell you that hell yes, it is.
"In a relationship, you need to have that sexual component to maintain intimacy and a connection and keep the romantic chemistry going," says psychiatrist Gail Saltz, author of The Ripple Effect: How Better Sex

Good Food........Good Health which contained all diet
On this note, Apart from breast-milk, no single food contains all the essential nutrients the body needs to be healthy and function efficiently. The nutritional value of a person's diet depends on the overall balance of foods that is eaten over a period of time, as well as on the needs of the individual. A healthy diet is likely to include a large number or variety of foods, from each of the food groups, as this allows us to get all the nutrients that we need.
We need energy (calories or kilojoules) to live and this is provided by the carbohydrate, protein and fat in our diets (as well as alcohol). But the balance between these nutrients must be right for us to remain healthy. Getting the right amounts of vitamins, minerals, dietary fibre and water is also important for health.
So, what becomes as important as the type of foods we eat, is how often and how much we include different foods and drinks in our diet. All foods and drinks can be part of a healthy diet, so you don’t have to give up the things that are a real treat, as the key message is that it is the overall balance of foods and drinks that is important for health.

Breaking News, A healthy varied diet

News on Top Good Food........Good Health

All foods and drinks can be part of a healthy diet, so you don’t have to give up the things that are a real treat, as the key message is that it is the overall balance of foods and drinks that is important for health.
As well as having the right balance of foods and drinks, it is also important to consume the right amount of calories for you. In the UK, most adults are either overweight or obese and this means that many of us are eating and drinking more calories than we need and need to consume fewer calories in order to lose some excess weight.
The food groups
We can think of all foods as belonging to one of five different food groups:
We will look at these food groups in more detail on the following pages, but let’s first think about the proportions of these food groups in our diet.
Our diets should be based on bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and other starchy foods and rich in fruit and vegetables. A variety of foods from these two groups should make up two-thirds of the food we eat. Most of the remaining third of the diet should be made up of milk and dairy foods, meat, fish, eggs, beans and other non-dairy sources of protein, with limited amounts of foods and drinks high in fat and/or sugar. Most of us eat too much salt and it is a good idea to check food labels to find those with a lower salt content and to minimise the amount of salt you add to food at home.
It might be helpful for you to think of your diet as a big plate, with sections representing the different food groups. This is the healthy eating model that we use in the UK to describe a healthy varied diet and it is called the eatwell plate.
It’s a good idea to aim to achieve this balance every day, although it is not necessary to achieve it at every meal and you might find it easier to get the balance right over a longer period such as a week.
This guide is appropriate for most people over the age of two years, including: vegetarians; people of all ethnic origins; people who are a healthy weight for their height as well as those who are overweight; and pregnant women. People under medical supervision or with special dietary requirements may want to check with their doctor if this general description of healthy eating applies to them.
Children under the age of two years have high energy needs compared to their size and capacity for food so some of the foods (especially those low in fat or high in fibre) included on the eatwell plate are not suitable for them. But between the ages of two and five years, children can make a gradual transition towards the type of diet shown in the eatwell plate.
For most healthy people, eating a healthy varied diet will provide all the vitamins and minerals the body needs. There are certain times in our lives when we may benefit from taking supplements, e.g. when you are thinking about having a baby or when you get older and you need to take a vitamin D supplement. But you should remember that supplements cannot replace a healthy diet.

The Pakistani-Americans living in Washington metro area and New York tri-state areas, as well as in the West coast and several other states, joined the fellow Muslims in celebrating the religious festive occasion. In their sermons, the Imams and Khateeb prayed for peace in conflict-torn Islamic countries and urged the need to foster values of brotherhood, love and peaceful coexistence.
